Emma

Finally I can publish this post, I could not spoil the surprise and show it on the blog before giving the gift.
It come with me to Greece this summer... so you can imagine how long it has been with me... then once  I have finished embroidering it passed into the hands of Marika as my beloved Union Jack for the making up.
This time the cushion was a present. It's a special gift for Emma. Emma is the daughter of a very dear friend of mine, we've known each other forever and we have been together through both beautiful and bad things...
I'm really lucky with my friends, the distance has never been a problem. Physically distant, different studies and paths, or equal and parallel, but still very close. After months we meet for a few hours or a few days, with the same confidence that it's never changed over the years.

Emma is my goddaughter, me ungrateful that I moved abroad when she was just a baby! This cushion is for her... who is now 3 years old and who may have preferred a toy, but which I hope she will appreciate when she will grew up. Meanwhile the cushion is on her bed, she says that it is soft, and that it is a present from Francy, pointing London on the globe!

For the first time I experienced the embroidery over the needlepoint canvas. To be a beginner with no experience with needle and thread, I'm pretty satisfied!

I chose pink and lilac and a lot of pompoms... but I like to think that it is a piece that's going to be always with her, she may change the fabric and remake the pillow every time she will like.

Falling in love

Let's start again!
I would like to be energetic and strong, but unfortunately I'm slow...
I had long and beautiful holidays, but the time is never enough to enjoy family and friends as I'd like. I ate (a lot), I drunk (a lot), I traveled (a lot), I slept (not enough)... and now let's start again!
Back at home breaking the door at 3 am, what a nice surprise!
And now, sick with my best friend kleenex, and with the fridge full of delicatessen made in Italy despite my intention of detox, I set the holidays aside and I start the new year full of exciting news!

I've decided to restart with a powerful project:

There's little to say, words are superfluous for the thunderbolt...
I like everything, what to add?
This is the London house of Debi Treloar, photographer: bright, colourful, eccentric, a story in pictures of joy and love for objects from the past.

Welcome 2013

I wish you all the best... with my personal goal to keep these words always in my mind:

Well, if you want to sing out, sing out

And if you want to be free, be free

'Cause there's a million things to be
You know that there are

And if you want to live high, live high
And if you want to live low, live low
'Cause there's a million ways to go
You know that there are

You can do what you want
The opportunity's on
And if you can find a new way
You can do it today
You can make it all true
And you can make it undo
you see ah ah ah
its easy ah ah ah
You only need to know

Well if you want to say yes, say yes
And if you want to say no, say no
'Cause there's a million ways to go
You know that there are

And if you want to be me, be me
And if you want to be you, be you
'Cause there's a million things to do
You know that there are

Well, if you want to sing out, sing out
And if you want to be free, be free
'Cause there's a million things to be
You know that there are
You know that there are
You know that there are
You know that there are
You know that there are

Merry Christmas!

Christmas has arrived...
I'm already in Italy, ready for 3 days of food marathon.
I'm definitely lucky this year:  I'm having a long holiday with my family and my old friends, many dinners and toasts, a wedding, some skiing, finally a bit of calm to enjoy my little pink house that is so neglected, and embrace the daughters of my friends, who is a little girl (I hope she will remember me) and the newborn.
I need a good charge to start the new year, which promises to be quite challenging since January...

"Can you please take some pictures of the Christmas lights for the blog?"
This was the beginning...
Then he got carried away... he spent a lot time in the cold... he did everything by himself...
Thank you!

Enjoy:

BUON NATALE A TUTTI!

Mustache Christmas

The mustaches are everywhere, and for me they are particularly relevant due to a competition with some friends that started a couple of years ago (already?). We look for the most extravagant mustache object.
There are so many mustache things... the competition is hard and the level is very high... but I must say that living in the toys land, where silly gadgets are everywhere helps!

The mustache inspired me for my embroidered Christmas ornament...

HAPPY MUSTACHE CHRISTMAS!
