Se i diamanti sono i migliori amici di una ragazza e sono anche per sempre, non immagino nemmeno quanto sia contenta la regina, che festeggia il Giubileo di Diamante, cioe' i 60 anni di regno.

Chissa' che a sorpresa non venga regalato un diamante a tutti, giusto come ricordino?

Magari ce lo mandano per posta, tanto qui ti trovi di tutto nella cassetta delle lettere, dai volantini pubblicitari ai rimborsi delle tasse!

If diamonds are a girl's best friend and they are also forever, I cannot imagine how happy the Queen could be, while she's celebrating her Diamond Jubilee, 60 years of  reign.
Maybe we all will recieve a diamond as a present, why not?
Maybe we'll find it in the letter box, as we receive everything by post, from leaflets to tax refunds!

La citta' e' in festa, ci aspetta un weekend lungo con ben 2 giorni di vacanza... Thanks for the days off!

Per il giubileo di diamante della regina Londra e' invasa da tempo da gadget, effigi della regina, Union Jack stampata ovunque, vetrine addobbate che manco a Natale!

The city is ready for the party, we are waiting for a long weekend... thanks for the two days off!
For the Queen's Diamond Jubilee London is stuffed of souvenirs, Queen's silhouette are all over, Union Jack gadget are everywhere, the windows are richer now than at Christmas time.

Se si avesse intenzione di comprare un ricordino dell'evento (io??? macche'...) c'e' l'imbarazzo della scelta:

Ovunque sono in vendita kit per feste in strada e pic nic in giardino e mica ci si limita a piatti e bicchieri di carta, la cosa e' molto piu' seria: alzatine per torte e cupcakes, bandierine, cannucce a tema, decori per torte tutto rigorosamente coordinato!

Nemmeno il cibo vero e proprio si salva, dalla Marmite al Pimms quale migliore occasione per sistemate la grafica del marchio e vendere un'edizione speciale?

A volte proprio esagerano... ma un po' invidio questo patriottismo!

Neither the food is safe, from Marmite to Pimms which better opportunity for re-branding and for selling a limited edition?

I think sometimes it is too much... but I also envy their patriotism.

Coloured vintage

Non l'ho mai fatto, in genere non pubblico fotografie di ambienti prese in giro sulla rete.
Lo sapete, mi piace fare e poi mostrarvi cose fatte da me, o comunque cose che vedo in giro, che mi colpiscono e mi sono piaciute.
Pero' quando, come in questo caso, quello che trovo in un altro blog e' esattamente nel mio stile e non c'e' nulla che cambierei... come non condividere?

I've never done it, I generally avoid to publish photos of houses found somewhere in the web.

You'd probably know that I like make and then show things done by me, or at least interesting stuff that I have discovered and that I love.

But what to do if I've seen in another blog an house that is perfectly in my style and where I wouldn't change anything? Why do not share?

Si tratta di una vecchia cascina del XIX nel nord della Spagna nella campagna vicina a Ourense, Galizia, recuperata con un personalissimo stile dallo studio Oito Interiores.

It is a 19th century rural house in the North of Spain, in the country around Orense, in the Galicia region. It has been restored with a very particular style by the local interior design company Oito Interiores.

Tutti i giorni, mattina e sera, passo davanti alle vetrine piu' incredibili e lussuose... parlando di scarpe, per fortuna non sono quella dei tacchi (nonostante i tentativi di mio fratello di trasformarmi), anzi!
Ad essere sincera l'unica cosa che davvero vorrei sono queste scarpe:

Every morning and every afternoon I walk past the most amazing and luxury windows... luckily I don't like the heels (despite my brother's attempts to transform me).

To be honest the only thing I really would like to buy are these shoes:

Aggiungiamo poi che sono circondata da adolescenti, anche quelle di una volta, ricoperte di borchie, sul proprio corpo e sugli accessori.
Ma prima di investire uno stipendio per togliermi la voglia di borchie... vengono in soccorso Ebay e un po' di fantasia: borchie a forma di stella!

Then I have to add that I'm sorrounded by teenagers, even those that have been once, covered by studs, on their body or their accessories.

But before investing my salary to take away my desire to studs... Ebay and a bit of imagination have helped me: star shaped studs!

Lo scorso weekend abbiamo partecipato, con Elizabeth, alla London to Brighton Mini Run 2012, un raduno annuale di Mini classiche con partenza da Londra fino al mare, a Brighton.
Non potete immaginare che spettacolo (presto un post sull'evento)!
Elizabeth si e' comportata veramente bene: considerato che e' una lady di una certa eta' e che non la usiamo quotidianamente, e' stata proprio brava, sono proprio orgogliosa di lei.

Quindi si meritava un regalino da parte mia... a dire il vero A. la coccola sempre e la riempie di regali, ma non sono certo il genere di regali che mi vedono partecipe (specchietti, cerchioni, gomme, tutto rigorosamente originale!)
Questa volta volevo ringraziarla del bel viaggetto... quindi mi sono messa alla prova anche io, col cucito.
Cosa meglio di un nuovo portachiavi? Un accessorio, un po' come una borsa per una donna, non si puo' avere sempre la stessa...

The past weekend we took part, with Elizabeth, into the London to Brighton Mini Run 2012 competition, an annual parade of classic Mini from London to the seafront in Brighton.

You cannot imagine how amazing experience (I'm preparing a post)!

Elizabeth behaved very well, considering that she is an old lady and it's rarely used she was really good, I'm so proud of her.

So I've decided to give her a present... Actually, A. is very sweet with her and often gives her gifts but they are not the kind of present I can be part of (mirrors, rims, tires, everything strictly original).

I wanted to thank her personally for the nice trip, so I've tested myself in sewing.

What better than a new key-ring? It's for her a fashion accessory, like a bag for a woman, you can not wear always the same one.

Non e' venuto male per essere il primo esperimento, non avevo mai cucito in vita mia!
Devo ammettere che la parte piu' complicata e' stata fare il bordo, a mano!  Ma non ho trovato nessuna alternativa che mi convincesse, nessun cordoncino adatto, mentre mi piaceva l'effetto sparkling di questo filo.

The result is not bad to be my first experiment in sewing!

I must admit that the hardest part has been hand sewing the border. I didn't find any cord I liked, but I liked the sparkling effect of this thread.

Speriamo che la signorina gradisca!

I hope Elizabeth will enjoy it!
