A brave bride in Greenwich

Inizio sfatando un falso mito... cioè che qui il tempo è sempre una schifezza! Non è vero, e nemmeno piove poi così tanto...

 I would like to debunk a myth... the weather here is not always bad! It isn't and even then it rains so much...

Quando piove nel nord Italia, puoi anche rassegnarti...  se inizia puoi anche scommetere che sarà così per almeno un paio di giorni.
L'autunno qui è stato fantastico, temperature decisamente gradevoli e sole.
Diciamo che in generale non mi posso lamentare, primavera ed autunno sono miti al punto giusto.
Va un pò peggio d'estate, almeno per chi come il caldo lo sopporta e anzi lo ama! Va beh, non si suda e i marciapiedi non colano sotto le suole (ma perchè succede solo a Milano??)... ma nemmeno ti puoi permettere di uscire di casa la mattina in abitino e ciabatte, che per me è felicità!

In the North of Italy when it rains you can resign yourself... if it starts you can bet that it will rain for at least a couple of days.
The autunm here has been fantastic, very warm and sunshine.

Let me say that I cannot complain, spring and autumn are mild enough.

It's a little worse in the summer, at least for those who like me likes and loves hot weather! Well, it's very hard to sweat and the sidewalks don't melt down (why it happens only in Milan ??)... but you cannot afford to go out in the morning just wearing a light dress and slippers, which to me means happiness!

Detto questo, il freddo è arrivato! Fa freddo, davvero!
Gli inglesi sono geneticamente diversi da noi, non c'è storia... abbiamo una percezione diversa della temperatura!
Ci sta una sera senza calze, quello ormai lo sopporto, se non altro per questioni di fashion... ma certo è meglio evitare di guardare fuori dalla finestra e basare le mie scelte mattutine sull'abbigliamento dei passanti!

Quando ancora facevo la pendolare tra l'Italia e Londra, ricordo che un weekend avevo in testa di mettermi alla ricerca di un piatto decorato, di quelli dal sapore british... per poterlo poi trasformare in un orologio da parete...

Potete immaginare la mia soddisfazione quando ne ho trovato uno perfetto, già finito e funzionante su una bancarella del mercatino di Battersea... per soli £3.00!!!!

When I was still commuting between Italy and London, I remember that one weekend I had in mind to put myself in search of a decorated plate, one of those very British... in order to transform it into a wall clock...

You can imagine my delight when I found the perfect one, already finished and working on a market stall in Battersea... for only £ 3.00!!

Per fare quello che mi piace davvero, ossia dare un nuovo aspetto ai mobili vecchi, ci vuole taaaanto tempo, tanta pazienza, la bella stagione per non morire intossicati in casa a causa delle polveri e delle vernici, e anche tanto spazio per tenerli!
Tutte cose che al momento mi mancano... purtroppo...

Inoltre a me appassionano anche un sacco di altre cose, tra cui la moda (sempre a modo mio, con tanto colore, qualcosa di vecchio e qualcosa di nuovo) e da qualche tempo anche sperimentare in cucina...

Infine mi sono resa conto che essendo circondata da migliaia di oggetti meravigliosi, ho iniziato a darli per scontati, così come molte altre cose che vedo... ma forse non lo sono così tanto!

To do what I really like, that is giving a new look to old furniture, I need a lot of time, patience, space to store them and good weather for not to die at home due to toxic dusts and paints.

Then, I also love a lot of other things, including fashion (always with my style, colourful, with something old and something new) and recently also cooking... All things that I miss right now... unfortunately...

 Lastly I realized that living in London and being surrounded by thousands of beautiful objects, as other amazing things, I started to take them for granted... but perhaps they aren't!

Ci ho pensato... e per non deviare troppo dalla strada maestra del blog, l'home decor, ma condividere comunque anche il resto del mio mondo Buffo, da qualche giorno sono entrata in Twitter e Followgram (entrambi più immediati del blog!)

Oh mamma... ho realizzato di essere un'emigrata! 

Con calma... direte voi...

Finally... you say...

Ebbene sì, sto iniziando ora a realizzare in pieno... ho fatto avanti e indietro per tanti mesi, quindi un piedino qui ce l'ho da parecchio tempo... ma ora è diverso, effettivamente la mia vita ora è qui!

E' una sensazione strana: vivo nel paese dei balocchi, la città mi fa sentire sempre viva... ed è inutile ripetere che sto benone (ma sto benone davvero!!).

Tanti affetti li ho lasciati in Italia, ma sono così vicini... che nella mia testa mi sento ancora metà di qua e metà di là... Anche se tutte le mattina mi sveglio qui!

Yes, I'm beginning to understand a bit more... I spent so many months on going to and fro that I've started to fell here at home a lot of time ago... but now it's different! Actually my life is here!

It's a strange feeling: I live in Toyland, London makes me feel excited... and perhaps it's needless to say I'm OK (but I'm more than OK!).
