Pottery... again

Che io ultimamente sia fissata con la ceramica non è una novità...
Sto anche studiando un pò... nozioni che mi servono per riconoscere in giro cose di un certo valore e qualità dalle altre cianfrusaglie.
Tra le varie scoperte, un celebre marchio tipicamente British.

Si chiama WEDGWOOD... e sicuramente avrete già visto i loro prodotti più tipici e riconoscibili, piatti, vasi e tazze di un blu pastelloso con decori bianchi a silhouette.

I'm also studying a bit... I'm learning notions that I need to recognize valuable things of quality from the other junk.
Among the various findings, a typically British famous brand.

It's WEDGWOOD... and you have probably already seen their most typical and recognizable plates, vases and cups in a creamy blue decorated with white silhouette.

Alcune fantasie mi avevano già incantata, le avevo viste in giro nei grandi magazzini più belli...

Gli effetti della convivenza... i LEGO in tavola

La convivenza ha un sacco di effetti, positivi per lo piu'!
Non intendo raccontarvi della mia vita sentimentale, non preoccupatevi...
E' innegabile che vivere insieme ad un'altra persona sia un continuo scambio-incontro-scontro su tutto, nel mio caso anche sull'arredamento!

Living with another person has a lot of effects, mostly positive.

I will not tell you about my love life, don't worry...

But it's obvious that it is a continuous exchange, a clash, for everything, in my case even for the furniture.

A. non e' quello che mi lascia fare... o meglio, ho abbastanza carta bianca perche' gli stili coincidono, ma ci mette sempre del suo.
Ad oggi l'unico veto che ha posto e' sul rosa (non perche' non gli piaccia in assoluto, ma solo per bloccare sul nascere la mia tendenza ad avere TUTTO rosa!)
Comunque... la casina dove abitiamo e' per forza di cose fatta da entrambi, e in ogni singolo oggetto e' chiara la provenienza... qualcosa e' propriamente "mio", cosa "di entrambi", e qualcosa "suo".

A. is  not the kind of person that let me do whatever I want at home... or rather... he gives me a free hand because we have the same style, but he always has his say.

To this day the only forbidden thing is the pink (not because he doesn't like at all, but only to prevent my tendency to  use pink ALL OVER).

Anyway, our small house is necessarily made by both, and the origin of each object is clear. Something is truly "mine", something "his" and something "of both".

Cosi' mi trovo ad avere ed usare oggetti che personalmente non avrei MAI acquistato... e la cosa strana e' che mi piace!

So, I'm using some objects that personally I would NEVER bought... but the strange is that I like it!

Da poco sono venuta a conoscenza dei lavori di Katey, un'illustratrice che vive qui a Londra.
Katey lavora con A. e appena ho visto i suoi disegni me ne sono innamorata!
Sono delle mini novelle... le protagoniste sono ragazze con vestitini carinissimi nella loro vita quotidiana... raccontate uno sguardo attento che coglie il lato ironico delle situazioni.

Recently I ldiscovered the works of Katey, an illustrator based in London.
Katey works with A. and as soon as I saw her drawings I felt in love with them.
Here works are short stories... the protagonists are girls with cute dresses in their daily lives... told through smart eyes which capture the ironic side of situations.

Anche i colori sono bellissimi insieme... una palette delicata che richiama un'atmosfera ovattata...

I also love the colours... a sweet palette that reminds me a soft atmosphere.

How to make my ears happy

Che internet sia una fonte inesauribile e si possano scoprire chicche da ogni parte del mondo non è una novità...
Quello che, dopo qualche mese, non smette di stupirmi, sono da una parte la solidarietà e l'affetto di persone che non ho mai conosciuto di persona... e dall'altro aver scoperto dei tesori che erano vicinissimi a me ma che ignoravo!

It's not a news that internet is an endless mine of goodies and you can find treasures from anywhere in the world...
What, after a few months, never stops to amaze me, are the solidarity and affection of people who have never met... and the discovery of gems that were very close to me but I didn't know!

Oggi, ad esempio, vi presento i lavori di Alessandra, una ragazza che conosco di vista da chissà quanto tempo (la nostra micro città in questo aiuta!) ma con cui credo di non aver mai parlato...
E invece, da che esiste l'Atelier Buffo, ci stiamo conoscendo meglio...
Tra le cose che ci accomunano... anche lei ama creare con le sue mani, è autodidatta...  ma quello che fa le viene davvero bene!

Work in progress

Qualche tempo fa vi avevo mostrato cosa ho da poco imparato, complice il mio lavoro.
Sono entrata nel mondo del ricamo, e dopo aver posticipato per qualche mese... alla fine non ho resistito...
Ho iniziato un progetto tutto mio, a partire dal design...
Il motivo per cui mi trattenevo era che tanto lo sapevo che mi sarebbe piaciuto... e tanto! Adoro qualsiasi cosa cambi forma, si trasformi per il mio intervento, amo i colori e tutto ciò che posso fare con le mie mani... che soddisfazione vedere poi il risultato finale!

Some times ago I show you what I recently learned, thanks to my job.

I went into the tapestry world, and after a delay of some months... at the end I could not resist...

I started my own project, designed by me....

The reason why I was refraining from starting is that I already knew that I would like... and a lot! I love anything that changes due to my work, I love the colours and all I can do with my hands... what a satisfaction to see that the final result!

Per finirlo mi ci vorranno mesi... e a dire la verità non ho ancora deciso cosa diventerà, anche se qualche idea ce l'ho!
Ma per il momento vi mostro a che punto sono, cioè quasi all'inizio!

It will take me months to finish it... and to tell the truth I have not decided yet what it will be, even if I've got some ideas!
But for now I show you the work in progress, that is almost the beginning!

Floral Union Jack

Ho scelto i colori uno ad uno, e anche se di poche gradazioni, sono tutti diversi.
Sono fortunata perchè, non essendo un kit preparato, lo posso modificare in divenire... è bello vedere come il disegno cambi e si configuri mano a mano che procedo.

I chose the colours one by one, and they are all different, even though a few shades.
I'm lucky because it's not a ready kit, I can edit and change my mind in progress... it's nice to see how the design changes and begins to look interesting as I proceed.
